"Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey." On Palm Sunday, Barnie the donkey will lead our procession Crown Charter Farm is a family rescue farm located in Hopewell Township, NJ. We started rescuing and adopting animals two years ago when we adopted Barnie from The Barnyard Sanctuary in Columbia, NJ. Barnie is a sweet six-year-old donkey who was afraid of people for most of his life. He now loves ear rubs, being fed treats, and snuggling. He is so excited to be leading the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church Palm Sunday procession! At our farm, Barnie is the brave protector of newborn orphan lambs who we rescue each spring. We bottle feed them until they are older and healthy, and then they are available for adoption as outdoor family pets. Graciously offering to transport Barnie for the procession is Chrissy Walsh, owner of The Black Fox Farm located at 48 Harbourton Woodsville Road, Pennington, NJ. The farm offers summer camp, lessons, leasing, and trail rides. To learn more about their farm, visit their website www.theblackfoxfarm.com or their Instagram page @theblackfoxfarm.
