Additional Youth Ministries

We offer a monthly youth group for middle schoolers called Destinations! This program involves a mystery destination, fun and fellowship, and connections to the middle schoolers’ lives and faith.

Please click HERE for more information on our Destinations program.

We also offer service and outreach opportunities for our high schoolers throughout the year. Some choose to assistant teach in our Kairos Sunday School program. Others participate in our annual Kairos outreach projects, and others join us when we serve organizations throughout our community.

Children & Youth

Our Sunday morning church school program is called Kairos, and all children ages 4 through 8th grade are welcome!

Kairos is the name of our Sunday School program at St. Matthew’s because Kairos means “God’s Time.” In this program, our Sunday mornings begin with a Welcoming Time at 9:45 am, and classes begin at 10:00 am. We have a faithful, dedicated teaching family including teens who have graduated from our program and return as teaching assistants.

Our youth are engaged in lessons, related art and activities, and many outreach projects throughout the year. Our Kairos youth join the 10 am service in time to share the Holy Eucharist with their families.

If you have any questions or are looking for an opportunity to be involved with this ministry, please contact Cheryl Watterson, Director of Youth and Family Ministries, at kairos@stmatthewspennington.org.
