Stewardship Campaign
’Grace in Action’
2025-2026

November 2025

Dear Parish Family,

Grace and peace from your St. Matthew’s Stewardship Team.

As we enter this season of gratitude, we give thanks for the extraordinary ways our parish lives out Grace in Action — through worship, music, adult and children’s formation, outreach, fellowship, and shared values of kindness and compassion. Together, we reflect God’s love in visible, joyful ways.

St. Matthew’s stands at an important moment. The cost of sustaining our worship, ministries and physical space has grown in recent years, and we need everyone’s help to ensure that our community continues to thrive.

Your financial pledge supports everything we do, from sacred moments in worship with Mother Leslie, to quiet interludes in our peaceful memorial garden – and every electricity bill in between.

We invite each household to see giving not as an obligation, but as an opportunity for spiritual growth. Your pledge is an expression of gratitude for all the ways St. Matthew’s enriches your lives and allows you to participate fully in God’s abundant grace.

If you have found a home here, or have been inspired by our ministries, we ask for your help in maintaining St. Matthew’s vibrance and strength. Alongside preservation, we hope for progression and encourage you to welcome new friends and family into St. Matthew’s special community.

Enclosed, you will find:

  • A Narrative Budget, telling the story behind our numbers and how your gifts sustain worship, learning, outreach and community life.

  • A Giving Chart, showing what different levels of support could mean for St. Matthew’s mission in the year ahead.

Our goal is simple yet vital: to continue being a church where God’s grace is alive and active and a place of compassion, belonging, and hope for generations to come. With that in mind, we ask that you prayerfully consider increasing your pledge by 15% as we plan for the year ahead – and prepare for success in the years to follow.

Thank you for your faith, your generosity, and your steadfast love for St. Matthew’s. Together, we are Grace in Action.

With gratitude and hope,
The St. Matthew’s Stewardship Campaign Team

P.S.: Please fill out your enclosed pledge card as soon as possible or visit the St. Matthew’s Pennington website to contribute online through GivePlus.

2 Corinthians 9:6

“The one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one the sows abundantly will reap abundantly.”

We will reap abundantly if we do the abundant work.  A steward is someone entrusted with property that belongs to another. Because everything we have is a gift from God, we are called to offer a portion of what we have received back to the fulfilling of God’s purposes.

Collectively, we understand that St Matthew’s has a mission grounded in Christ. It impacts us as individuals, it impacts our community, and it impacts the wider world. To maintain our worthy causes we ask you to make them your own. Become a steward by giving your time, expressing your talents, and pledging your treasure. By this you will be continuing God’s mission, a mission of joy and abundance!

As always, a HUGE thank you to all who support the work of St. Matthew’s financially throughout the year. We cannot do what we do without you!

If you’re interested in setting up automatic payments so you don’t have to worry about these kinds of things, your local bank should be able to help with that. Still have questions? Contact the Parish Office , and we’ll walk you through it.
